Which Coolant

So I have lost touch a bit and need to catch up on the latest and greatest.

I have a custom loop that contains aluminum. I have been using MCT-5 for the last few (many) years and replaced it maybe once.

I just ordered a new block (XSPC Raystorm) and thought it would be a good idea for a change to flush out the system and replace the coolant, which leads to 2 questions;

-What to use to flush the loop, and

-What coolant to use (prefer non-uv gimickey stuff) that would prevent corrosion. Also prefer non conductive. Not looking to squeeze out that last drop of performance but would rather use something that is low maintenance and easy to us.

Appreciate any suggestions!!

I use Thermochills EC6 as it has everything in one bottle no need to add anything and its clear allowing you to use Mayhems Dye to make it whatever color you want

just distilled water should do the trick but I always overkill by disassembling the whole loop and flushing each part separately and allowing to drain out

Distilled water to flush, if your still not happy you could try boiling water(non plastic components) or white vinegar(clear).

OK so I got it cleaned up, but now the next question is how dry does it need to be before adding the EC6? I got most of the distilled water out but there is some wetness left that would require a lot of effort to get rid of.

the main body of fluid is good enough it'll take days to dry completely as air flow inside the rad is minimal

Just stick it in, and if you notice a real blow to your cooling or you want to optimize your cooling leave it hanging upside-down for a couple of days.
