Which 680 to get? Help needed

Yo yo. I'm new here guys and this is my first ever post. Just built a new computer (my first ever build BTW) and the only thing left to do now is choose a graphics card. Here's the deal: I fully intend to be gaming at 5760x1200 so I will need a pair of 4GB cards, preferably GTX 680s, however my mind is open to any alternatives in the red camp as well. Thinking about getting EVGA FTW or Classified but they're not reference design so I'll be hard pressed to watercool them further down the road but they sound like good options nonetheless. Which ones perform best and which ones are better value for the money. Upgrading from consoles. Done dozens of hours of homework on this and need direct input.

My build so far...

Mobo: Maximus V Formula, Core: 3770k, Cooling: CM Hyper 612
Memory: Trident X 8GB 2400Mhz
Drives: Mushkin Atlas 60GB, 2x Intel 520 series 240GB RAID0
PSU: Corsair AX1200i
Case: CM Cosmos II

Good advice guys. I understand there is only a 3-5% performance gap between 670 and 680, how much of a gap is there when they are both in SLI configurations. Also, forgot to ask earlier and just out of curiosity, but is there any truth to GTX 685/GK110 rumors?

If there is gonna be a 685 then I can imagine it would be pretty expensive, I really think the 670 would be more than enough in sli

The gap between SLI 670's and 680's is about the same performance gap as in single card configs. Also consider 7970's, they're priced very aggressively and good performing non-reference cards (such as the Sapphire Dual-X) can be found about the same as a non-reference 670 but they're faster than the 680. As for the GK110/GTX 685 i very much doubt there will be such a card, but is there a GK110 chip? I'm not sure but i think a supposedly related chip is used in the latest Quadro card, but i'm not 100% certain that is correct, it's all speculation atm

I thought GK110 was used in the latest Tesla card?
It would be interesting to see some revised graphs highlighting the performance differences between the four top end cards.

Ah yes you're correct it is Tesla, i read it up on the internet somewhere that it was used in a Quadro or Tesla card i just couldn't remember which one it was :p

Yeah I, too, doubt there will be a GTX 685.

The last graphics card I bought was a BFG-branded 6800 GT so I am, indeed, playing A LOT of catchup here.

@youpla

That is one hell of a comparison. I'll have to buy you a cold one! Kudos!

Just looked at 670s available in my market. Pickings are slim to none for 4GB models. :(

What about the KFA2/Galaxy EX 670 4GB? It's the best 4GB model on sale, it's cool and quiet, overclocks well and looks great. I've seen it on sale on quite a few websites

You are more than welcome mate, i am glad if it can help you... It did to me and decided to go with 2 asus gtx670 after checking this :)
I dont know where you are but did you check on amazon? I had no luck to find the cards in my local electronic shop but got them on amazon! So you may want to check it out...
Cheers

Theres only the Galaxy and the EVGA SuperClocked. That's it. Only those two. More 680s to choose from that are 4GB. I don't think KFA is sold here in the States.

KFA and Galaxy are the same company, over here in the UK their cards are branded as KFA, over there they're Galaxy. The cards themselves tho are identical i do believe
