For me, both of the monitors you have chosen are big no no's. They are 27" and the resolution is only 1920 x 1080. If you want to get a 27" monitor make sure it is 2560 x 1440 and uses an IPS panel.

However, most IPS panel monitors at 2560 x 1440 are upwards of £400. But they are, in my opinion well worth it. How much are you looking to spend on said monitor?

Below £300

Cool man, it's up to you. What res monitor does you brother have? If it was 1080p and you still liked how it looked, then grab a 27" 1080p IPS monitor.

I have the AOC and love it. I wanted a fast low input lag IPS panel and after seeing the review on TFT Central i couldnt be happier

My lil brothers monitor was 1080p and 27" and i loved it so i think i may just go with the AOC 27" as its an awesome price for an IPS and it looks the mutts nuts ^^

I have to say when I first saw AOC monitors in person, they looked very cheap and I took an instant dislike to them. The actual screen however may be of better quality but I couldn't get past the exterior XD I think it was because the AOC monitors were next to a series of Dell ultra-precision monitors which just look amazing.

Old thread I know but hey ^^

Ended up getting the Asus MX279H, Awesome Monitor, 27" 1080P, AH-IPS.
Might sound crazy but I'm actually not too fond of the 2500 res monitors, makes my eyes go funny ^^

Anyway here it is :) -
