Where to mount the H50 Fan & Rad in the TJ-07 Case

Hi Guys

I'm building a rig for a friend who has brought the TJ-07 case and also the Corsair H50 Cooler, most places I have read say mount it where the exhaust fans normally are, but on the TJ-07 the exhaust fans are to small, and there is no where to mount a 120mm (that comes with the H50) at the back of the case.

The only thing I can think of is to mount it in the top of the case, remove one of the intake fans that come in the top and mount the fan and rad there, am I right in thinking the top fans are blowing into the case???? and that corsiar recommend that the fan blows thru the Rad, rather than blowing out of the case??

Is it ok for the Rad to be mounted in the roof, and will the mesh that covers the fans in the roof be strong enough to hold a fan and Rad??

Thanks Guys

The TJ-07 is a little odd for cooling with air. The two backplate fans are intake fans and the top ones are meant to be exhaust, but you could easily switch that round so that the top ones are the intake fans and the backplate ones are the exhaust fans.

From what I remember, the default config for the fans at the top of the TJ07 is to blow out of the case. Obviously you can flip them around if you like (so that it draws cold air in from the outside) but then that leaves you with two 80mm fans at the back of the case which wont really cope that well at removing all of the heat inside the case.

Mounting the rad on the mesh shouldn't be a problem though. I've seen dual rads mounted on that mesh without any problems.

You could just mount it on the top with air blowing out of the case instead of having it the way corsair recommends... I don't think it would make that much difference tbh

it shouldnt make a massive difference but its better to cool the rad with the air outside the case and it will be a lot cooler compared to inside so you will get lower temps

Naturally you will, but personally I don't care about a 2 degree difference in CPU temps.. and if your airflow is good the temperature of the air inside your case will not be much higher than the temperature outside of your case. Atleast that's the case with my antec 902 system. ;)

lol true but as it is those few degree's could make a higher overclock possible :P

Touché. It also depends what processor it is as to whether it will run hot and need that couple more degrees of cooling.
