When does game start to support 6 cores?

6 and 8 core processors has been on the market for a while now, anyonw who know if the game producers start programming allowing cpu to use more than 4 cores? I heard some rumors that games in 1012 will prob. support it, can anyone confirm this?

multi-core game development has started, but the games that will use 6+ cores will not be out until 2013

A couple of games use 6 cores, well they are optimized for 6 cores anyway, F1 2010 is one of them (with one of the game patches) I know there are a couple more but I can't remember what they are.

Mr Muggles: Correct me if I am wrong, but Arma 2, battlefield 3, skyrim,witcher 2 ETC supports 4 cores

If not, why was my performace increased ALOT when unlocking my 4th core?

I see that BF3 allready supports 6 cores and actually likes it pritty good. And lots of game will support it allready in 2012 it seems. Did some reacerch and just tought to let you know ;-P

Ah,and Arma 2 just LOVES 6 and 8 cores it seems!

I thought they are already. A while ago I read Frostbite 2 engine is designed for 4-8 cores & many games reccommend i7's which are 8 thread CPU's. My games run smoother with my i7 compared to when I used an i5 750 (4 threads), and the i7 can run at lower frequencys while achieveing this

I have done more reserch and more and more games support 6core. some 8. And even though they are not 100% effective, 1 review i read stated that they run on about 80% + eff.

That will certainly improve over the next year, so they who recomed to get a x4 core amd, stating it is overkill for gaming whit 6 cores, get your facts right! This is not 2009/2010!! You are giving people wrong advice, based on wrong info!

Masseffect 3 should 6cores at almost 100% effective! Producer claim!

BF3 supports 4-8 cores almost equall effectly! Thats what dice claims!

Going from 3 to 4 cores( oc from 3.2 to 3.6) and oc my gtx 460 756mb i could raise the grafic from medium to high and still i got an increase whit almost 20fps( the absolut lowest) My averge is about 25-30fps higher than it was on medium.

So if ME3 can effe. use 6 core, the one whit 6 cores will runn the game mutch better than the ones whit 4 cores. taking cores in use, if possible, increase the performace alot

Race driver grid, im pretty sure used all 6 on my old 1100t rig.
