What's the best driver updater

Hi,

I've used free DRIVER DETECTIVE and it detected loads of stuff needing updating. Thats all it does and wants to sell the full version to update the PC. I searched for some files and didn't find them. I'm willing to buy updater software.

Is there a better driver updater?

Have you used DRIVER DETECTIVE, is it OK?

Is there a working updating free driver updater and where can I get it?

I saw other updaters and they inform they use the same data-base as DRIVER DETECTIVE and I think aren't as user friendly and aren't as neat looking

Thanks

Personally I think it's best to get all your drivers strait from the manufacturers website, it can be a pain in the arse finding them some times but at least you know you have the right ones and you can then bookmark the page to check for updates regularly. I have never used Driver Detective myself but I have seen a lot of people on forums moaning that it has installed the wrong drivers and caused them grief.

Yep do it manually. Alot of stuff should be removed properly and restarted afterwards aswell. I never have and never will use an auto program to do mine for me.

Thanks, I'll research

I'm stuck at getting the latest VIA Audio Driver. ASUS's downloads has the 2009 version only and the Tank MG sound in Bad Company 2 is broken with that. I looked for drivers on the VIA website and in the drivers list I didn't find names or number that relate to the CREATIVE X-FI sound card or M3F motherboard I use. The website isn't user friendly enough.

If you can please help,

Thanks

Creative make the X-FI drivers, not VIA.

OK though the CREATIVE drivers needs the VIA driver to operate,

Thanks

I'm usin Microsoft HD Audio meanwhile and it channels through the sound card. It's a Supreme X-Fi sound card
