Whats going on with the 1st team?

Maybe I missed a thread or sommit, but it seems extremely unusual that we haven't got any kind of game or anything :\

umm, well llwyds nets not workin for him atm, and usually were not all at once n if we are then some are in other matches, not sure whats happening reli.

I'm surprised that you haven't managed to get any games even if Llywd and myself haven't been playing as we have a fully stocked B team, which contain some very good players!

At the moment, I'm really enjoying doing my OC3D reviews (got another one to do this week :D) and playing CS casually with either you guys or my old CS buddies.

As I mentioned before, I'd rather not call or do tactics anymore as I do not play as well when I do. I think therefore it would be best if I stepped aside and let someone else take over this role. Oxo would you be interested mate?

I'm happy to step in now and then but feel it's best if you concentrate on getting a solid core of players in the A team. Personally I wouldn't recruit in, but actually combine both the A and B teams as the B team have some very good players! I'll play and support when needed but not in officials.

:wavey:

Also please don't think that I'm not interested anymore, I am. It's just that I don't want the team depending on me to get games, arrange training and call in all the games.

We've got a lot of experience now and I think that for the team, it would be a good move if I stepped aside to allow you to develop and build upon what you've learnt.

I initially thought that Dave would be coming back to play, so my goal was to train up a team and help out where I could. However, just recently, I've felt that the whole team depends on me being there (I'm not being big headed or anything, but we don't seem to play when I'm not online).

I just don't want to be soley responsible for getting the team to play etc, especially with us wanting to do officials soon as I want to spend more time relaxing, enjoying the game and doing my reviews.

I hope everyone understands :)

i dont particuarly wana lead, dont feel il be very good imo, and ye we do have good players in the B team, but as has been said many times before, its not fair to keep pickin at them willy nilly, as theyve got there own comitments, thats y i stress the point we DO need to recruit as soon toms off to uni n were guna be left with 3 maybe 4 players with no team, which might aswel be the end of the A's

..and as much as I'd like to, I don't think I'm experienced enough to lead the team, nor do I have the time to arrange games and training.

eek not good to hear guys :(

id love to fly back in with my cape to be leader and all but i dont think its gonna be that simple. firstly to fix my computer its gonna take money i dont have atm.

and even assuming that i did get it fixed, id have to get to playable standards again, which could take over a month.

also as ive said before im not here hardly at all over the summer, so if i were to put myself in charge, thr wd be long long periods with no games.

im thinking about coming back to playing, but i just dont think being a leader is going to work im afraid.

i think your best bet is llwyd when his pc is working, or oxo is probably more than good enough by now.

i know you all dont like to lead because it affects your game, but its jus a different way of playing cs. instead of worrying about your game, you worry about the team, and nobody is going to be on your back because your score is suffering.

maybe a few of you should give it a go, just see how you perform?

as for recruiting, it seems like you will have to at some point, so just be on the lookout for experienced players who are also nice guys.

ive had a thought last night and have come up with a plan of action, and split things down into what ppl enjoy and good at, so ive come up with this:

[Ins] - Take us through tactics on our maps, show us fb and smoke spots etc, as uve been there and dunit, so we might aswel take advantage of ur vast experiance

Oxo - Il try calling in matches, using ins's tactics but calling when to rotate and what type of play we will do in different rounds, as u most probs no, i like to call on my own posistion so hopefully i can be a decent caller with practice.

Llwyd - In charge of ED, entering into leagues and other tournaments etc, aslo helping me out arranging PCW's etc.

hopefully with the jobs shared, we can put more time and thought into our specific area and help the team move on.

What do u guys think?

Sounds like a good move Oxo! Nice on on taking the reigns, *reps*

If you dish out the work, the job becomes so much easier! GL :)

i think its a great idea getting soembody else to organise the matches, takes a lot of work form the leader, as sometimes it can get a bit too much

good luck to everyone in my absence :D

As I mentioned before, I've stepped aside from the 1st team now and will therefore not be working on tactics anymore.

However I feel that you all have more than enough knowledge on the maps now and for the remaining ones where we haven't gone through tactics (Inferno, Cbble, etc), demos would provide you with positions I'd cover anyway.

I'd therefore have to decline the position of tactician.

bit of a waste of time then, only doing a month or so of proper training then loosing intrest, but never mind

Maybe you lot should consider recruiting some new 1st team members or even just bring a few up from the 2nd team.

It's got nothing to do with losing interest. I'm busy doing reviews for the site and I don't feel I can get any more out of the team.

Therefore my tactics are pointless and I'm sure you can take the reigns :)

Even so I've taken the decision to step down to concentrate on other things with OC3D and I would have hoped people would have respected this decision.

I've given a lot of time and effort to the team and it seems to have been forgotten. Perhaps I have made the right decision to step down then....
