whats better x2 5200 or x2 5400 quick please

hi guys im new here

i am about to buy an athlon x2 5400 but its only got 640kb cache per core where as the 5200 x2 has sumfin like 1158 per core

WHATS BETTER

im puzzled.

please can you guys help

I'd say gte the one with more cache as I found that it helps on 939 when multi-tasking

U`ll have to atleast give us a link to the saleage, it can often happen that the wording of these things gets screwed up and u can think u`ve got 2x512m on the one and 1x1024 on the other - but not really.

Anywho, they`re still quite a price aint they ? I mean in comparison to intels equiv.

i actually work for a company who sells computer parts so i have the 2 units to hand now.

i can get the 5400 (2.8 - 2 x 640kb cache) for 20qwid more than the 5200 (2.6 - 2 x 1mb cache)

i think i may go for the 5400 as i can then say i have a 5400 for just 20 qwid extra.

Well it's pretty likely that both are about the same speed real life, plus you can easily overclock the lower one a small amount and beat out the 5400
