New Build Advice Please

Hi Ladies and Gents. Its been a while :o

I could really do with your advice. For the last 5 years I have been using a Laptop as I haven't needed a decent PC or had the money to build one. Now I have and I need to build one. This part is covered as I am very comfortable with building PC's

The advice is needed in which components to buy. Obviously technology has moved on somewhat over the last 4 years and this is where you come in (please).

I have around £1100 to build a new PC and I want the core to be the i5 6600K (as the i7 6700K I think is just out of my price range). I also want to use the best Nvidia GPU I can get within my price range. 8GB memory at a minimum, an SSD for the OS with a HDD for storage. I want to get the best Mobo that fits my price range also

Usage will mainly be for playing games.

Any advice in what to get would be very much appreciated.

Thanks guys

BillUp

EDIT: I'll keep updating this edit as I find components :)

Anyone have any views on this setup before I pull the trigger? Aria have a few daily's I need to take advantage of. :)

Looks pretty sound as a base build fella, can't see much wrong with your choices and you've remained true to your budget. Its a great build and holds quality upgrade potential later.

Thank you Wraith, that's music to my ears :). I'm not going to be using more than 1 GPU so the PSU should be more than plenty even with OCing. I can add a HDD in at a later date. I'm still not sure on the CPU cooler though as I have read very good reviews on the Corsair H115i. The NZXT does go with the case though, and I believe the Mobo can control the pump?

For a 1060 SLI build, you'd probably get away with a 650watt PSU. Save a little bit of money, but more watts never hurts

AIO pump cables go into the CPU header, so yes it is controlled via motherboard, but it runs a constant 12v anyways. I'd get whichever is cheaper between the H115i or Kraken. In the US depending on where you look, prices between the top Corsair and NZXT AIOs changes often. So it's always worth a double check. Though if you do prefer the looks of the NZXT because of your system, then by all means go for it. Both are good units.

Two things I'd consider personally about the build.
1) get a bigger drive. Sometimes 500+ drives are on sale for not much more than a 256 ssd. ALways worth a look and games siizes are always increasing.

2) Personally I'd get EVGA or MSI. I;m not to fond of the Asus coolers, I find the MSI's are more quiet.

Thanks for the reply NBD. Aria are out of stock on EGVA but do have 2 MSI's, just seeing what the X is all about lol. The H115i and the Kraken are the same price so I'll go with the latter as its already in the basket. :)

MSI GeForce® GTX 1060 GAMING - 6GB Graphics Card
MSI GeForce® GTX 1060 GAMING X - 6GB Graphics Card

The X model has an additional 100MHZ on the OC mode, that's all

That will be all :)

I have an hour to think about the GPU so I'll do some more research. As for the SSD, I only really want it for the OS, and FSX although I will add another at a later date. I am going to change the Samsung out for the 250GB Crucial MX200 Solid State Drive, as its the same price with better specs.

I actually think I'm going to stick with the Asus anyway as the reviews are superb. Another bit of good news, the Aria daily's are still running lol.

I'm terrible I am. I think I have my build all sorted out, ready to pull the trigger, and then I have to check to see if I can get better. It drives me nuts :D
