What video editing software? (£50 - 100)

Hey guys,

So i've started to look into improving the quality and capabilities of Airsoft videos i've been putting together (Channel plug https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbyOq0PkVr9ghTbRq3DzaSw )

I'm using go pro studio at the moment but I get the feeling i'd be able to achieve a lot more with something a little more serious. Now I know you can buy things like after effects etc. for 100's of pounds but I was looking more prosumer sub 100 quid level and wanted to know what you guys recommend.

I'd like to start being able to do things like crosshair overlays, Picture in picture. Bit more control over the image quality and have the opportunity to experiment with things.

Also would love to hear any video editing tips you may have or how my videos could be improved.

I think Adobe also offer a monthly subscription based service called Creative Cloud which should give you the chance to check out Premiere Pro CC. I use CS6 myself and it has everything I'll ever need and a pretty simple interface for most of the basic stuff.

I use Premiere Pro a lot, as Feronix suggested - but if that's out of your budget you can have a go at Sony Vegas - it still has a lot of the features Premiere Pro has, give it a try!

Hmmm my girlfriend is a primary school teacher and having glanced at the eligibility requirements I may be able to get CC Complete for 154 quid a year. Is this worth exploring or is there a package with just the video editing tools?

Edit: Thinking about it a bit more i'm not sure i'm willing to splash out 100+ quid to start out.

So Sony Vegas is what's recommended?

cyberlinks Power Director is a good option. Fairly easy to use with good results.

I would recommend magix, have heard many good things from it.

Try the trial for Sony Movie Studio 13 Suite, I really like it. but that is my personal opinion. Most software you will look at will have a trial for 30 days or so, so I would go out and try them all, find the one that works for you rather than jumping straight in and investing.

If you can then try Sony Vegas first if you can, I've tried Adobe Premier and to be honest from a new user POV it was a lot harder to get to grips than SV.

I've actually used all the above mentioned software, and they each have advantages and disadvantages.

I use Vegas purely because i like the interface its basic as windows 98, but my workflow likes that. Premier is so awesome literally does everything, but for this reason its kinda hard to get to grips with, you get lost in the vast variety of options.

I would just spend a weekend and try everything and see what you like before you drop some monies

Can always look on amazon for prices. You could also get a previous version which is bound to be much much cheaper.
