what to buy

i built a system in december wich is pretty awesome just it runs a little hot and or loud so i decided ill go for a watercooling (and i just wanted to watercool my system anyway).
now i know the theorethical basics of wahtercooling loops and stuff and i meshured where and how i can mount radiators but but i dont know what kind of pump or reservoir or waterblocks .....

my system:
CPU: i7 3930k
GPU: Gygabite 7970OC
Mainboard: ASUS P9X79
PSU: Seasonic X-750
Case: Aerocool Xpredator blue

possible radiator positions:
a thin 240 at the top 30-mm
a thin 120 at the back 30-mm
and a thik 140 or 120 at the botoom

if possible i would like to have the reservoirs and pumps in the 5 1/4" bays cause i got 5 empty ones

First of all your case is not ideal for watercooling, but it should work. What do you think about modding you case a bit so that you can fit a 360 60mm thick rad in the front, should be quiet easy, remove the hdbays and cut the bottom of the 5.25'' bay out, the you could use 5.25'' to 120mm fan adapters (Digitec.ch sells them I think) to mount the rad and the fans

Your idea with all the thin rads should work as well but it's a lot more expensive.
http://www.aquatuning.ch/index.php has a few 5.25'' bay res from xspc and other brands. Your choice also depends on the pump you buy.
For the waterblocks: I'd get xspc or ek

From what I've heard the Laing D5 (same as Alphacool VPP655) is the best pump, but it's not cheap. Here you could get this reservoir:
XSPC Acrylic Dual 5.25" Reservoir for Laing D5 or the one from Tom's video

There's also the Laing DDC but it's not much cheaper than the D5 and it can sometimes be a bit noisy.
This would be a res for it:
Alphacool Repack - Laing DDC - 5,25 Bay Station

There's also the Alphacool DC-LT Ceramic, it's very cheap but not very powerful, you could use two of them with this res:

well but if i would do the mod
where would i mount my storage drive
my ssd can go pretty much anywhere but the storrage drive cant
with a 3x120 rad i would have 2 5.25" bays left
so you think i should better go with a fat 3x120 in te front and a fat 140 in the bottom?
 
Please don't use 120mm rads, it makes your loop look horrible. Either mod the case you have, get one suitable for watercooling, or don't watercool.

I think he meant a 360 rad dude, but you're right bout the case

@chestwood96: Yes, if it were my case I'd mod the front to get a 360 in there, but I'm not forcing you to cut up your new case. You could use a tuberes, then you could mount the hd in the 5.25'' bay

i just did some rough calculations
wasnt alowed to post teh excel file but here is what i came out whit
if i take the previus idea(thin 240 and 120 and thick 140) ill get 86400mm2 of surface but just 2472000mm3 of cooler volume
if i take a newer one (thick 360 in the front and thick 140 in the bottom) ill just get 62800mm2 of surface but 4891200mm3 of cooler volume
so i think ill do the mod
maybe i can send the xls per pm or spmething if somebody was interrested
 
I would also opt for the 360 rad in the front, but have you done measurements to see how many optical bays that would leave you with? i would guess about 2...3 would be pushing it. In this case, I would go with a tube reservoir, then stick the HDD in an optical as MadMarc suggested.

In terms of tubing and fittings, the most common sizes are either 1/2" ID and 3/4" OD, or 3/8" ID and 1/2" OD.

ID = inner diameter, OD = outer diameter

for fittings, I would go with barbs if you have a budget, because compression fittings add up really quickly! you could easily be spending up to $200 on compression fittings, especially for a rig with a lot of connections like yours.

My choice of tubing would now be the new primochill advanced LRT, and for fittings, I'd go for Bitspower. Good luck on your loop! :)

honestly, if you have no experience with waterloops and you don't have a case that really is good for it, just go with an all-in-one kit. the h100i is about 110€ i think.

i would end up whit 2 3/4 5.25" bays

Yes, the D5 is the best pump out there. Anything that looks like this pump is just a rebranding of the Liang D5 :) If you want to make it silent, you should get that exact pump, and crank it down to level 3-ish. You will not be able to hear this thing, and it'll still be pushing a lot of water.

As for the reservoir, I like Bitspower's z-multi reservoirs because the top has 3 ports for you to connect multiple fittings. This lets you connect a second fitting to make a temporary fill port, which is very convenient :)
 
Just don't bother with that 120mm rad. A 60mm 360 will be fine for a cpu and 1 gpu, let alone a 80mm. It'll just make the loop messy.
