hey ppl,i got skybb yesterday and they said they would start my dl speed at 4mb now when i ran a speed test at about 3pm it says 3.53mb its says that no matter what as ive ran a few its always stays at that number no less no more.

but when i go into my router and look at the download rate it say 4.1mb??

so whitch one is correct it should be going faster but like i said it got activated yesterday and they did say it can take 10days to get a better speed but i dont no whitch one is correct

Are you really going to complain over that difference?

Not sure if yours is the same, but one of the routers here calculates the speed itself by communication directly with the isp. Hence it will be as fast as it can be.

On the pc however, there are so many variables that will hinder that value.

3.53 on a 4m line is pretty good tbh. Often speed testers, like online ones, will use preferred servers which is somewhat different than ur isp & router talking on their own.

so in a nutshell trust what it says in the router not speed test

and sir yes if they say 4mb i want 4mb (there was no 'upto') so ile trust the router

Kinda yeah.

Windows' tcp/ip handling messes some of it up. No doubt you got some kind of software firewall sniffing everything also.

i have nod running and tuneup 2010 erm and i guess windows defender but i dont use it
