My pc at the moment is holding its own, but the power supply is holding back my overclocks. Im looking at two very different power supplies to replace my jeantech 500w which cant hold voltages very well. Currently my voltages are:

12v - 11.48v

5v - 4.92v

3.3v - 3.23v

Do i require an upgrade?

Hardware is:

Q6600 at 3.2 ghz at 1.26v

Maximus Formula x38

9800 GTX at 771 Core

4Gb Geil Ultra @ 1066

2x Samsung Spinpoint F1 1tb

Do i need to upgrade, if so which of the following PSU's would be best. Looking to upgrade in future.

Pc Power and Cooling 750w or Thermaltake Toughpower 750w.

THanks for your help

so do you think the 750w would sort me out for more stable overclocks and for a few upgrades in the future? What im basically asking is a single 12v rail better than multiple 12v rails?

Cheers

Single vs multiple rails wont make a noticeable difference to anything unless it causes problems between the PCI-E connector and ATX. Which was only a problem with the X1900 cards iirc.

Get the PCP&C 750w and you wont have to upgrade you P{SU until they bother to revise ATX specification.
