Hey there guys,
I was thinking of upgrading my PSU to a corsair HX750i because of the cable management, cable esthetics, overall consumption and awesome reviews it got globally.
In the future i plan to change my current GPU with a Geforce 980 which, from what i've read, recommands i have a min 500W power supply. I also plan on OC-ing my CPU. (stock from what i've read runs at 140W)
My question for you lovely ppl who most likely have more experience then me here, is HX750i enough to get the most out of my rig without any issues or should i push for HX850i (W) PSU in order to max out without any chance of overloading the PSU?
Thank you very much in advance for your help. It's greatly appreciated
- I recently got myself a 5820K + Asus X99-A + 16GB DDR4 2400 upgrade with H100i cooling and 2 extra 140mm front case vents (total 4 vents)
- I kept my previous GPU which is an ATI Sapphire 7970 Vapor-X ghz edition 3gb gddr5
- The PSU i have now is a 5 year old Enermax that pushes 1080W silver.

- I would go for the 1000W but it goes over the budget i have planned + i think that one is intended for SLI/Crossfire configurations.
- I do not plan on making any SLI or Crossfire configurations. I will always be a "1 GPU board guy"
- I might also add an ASUS Xonar Essence ST or STX II audio board in the far future, being an audio junkey.
