What product to fix copper heatsinks to gfx RAM?

I have copper heatsinks on the ram of my gto. Two of the little sods keep falling off as the adhesive looses its tackiness from extended exposure to the heat produced by the ram chips.

Each heatsink weighs 10grams - what do I use to fix them to the ram so they don't fall off?

Thanks

Ah, that might be a problem - I'll be getting the 8800gtx ordered next week or the week after, so my gto (only about 1 week old) will be sold - as this is the case I need to put the stock heatsink back on, to do that the copper heatsinks will have to, well, come off lol.

You definately dont want to use an adhesive if you plan on taking the sinks back off again, because 90% of the time you'll rip the RAM IC right off of the PCB.

In this situation you may actually consider getting some thermal tape or pads.

scan sell shinitsu thermal pads which are self adhesive....gotta be worth a go before you epoxy them on.:nono:

Frag - I am using thermal tape atm - granted it is the stuff the sinks came with so could well be sub standard. I'll buy some and hope for the best.

Out of interest, how are you boys making those fancy signatures? I know that sounds like a dumb q but I fancy one and I'm not sure where to start.

Edit: WTF - the pads are 2.39 - inc p&p 9.84! I'm good for money but I hate wasting it! Might see if ST have any...

Another option that a lot of people use is making a mix out of the adhesive and Ceramique (or was it AS5...?) That way it still sticks well, but can come off with a touch of work

Ceramique with dabs of epoxy in 2/4 corners. Worst case if it doesnt pull off, you slip a razor blade under.

Cheers for all the innovative solutions - I found some decent thermal tape on fleabay for just under 2 pound delivered. It only has to tide me over for a couple of weeks untill that sexy w/c bfg becomes available
