What monitor should i buy?

Hi all,

I am planning on buying a 27 inch monitor soon and I'm not sure what to buy.
Does anyone have any suggestions? My budget it anything bellow £300, Also I will be using it mostly for gaming and just general everyday use.

I have seen this monitor that i like so far but what do you think about it and is it worth the money id be paying for it? :
Asus MX279H 27 inch Widescreen AH-IPS Multimedia Monitor (1920x1080, 5ms, 2x HDMI, VGA, 178 Degree Wide-view Angle, Asus SonicMaster Technology).

looks a sweet monitor dude, very swish..

pricewise looks in line with the other decent branded ones £260-300 bangers

but havnt seen much of these ah-ips screens, so wouldnt like to comment on its performance, quick googles search shows some reviews commenting about light leakage, take with pinch of salt though, it looks a beltar!

and super thin bezel too, good for some trip-screens

If you're going for a 27" monitor, grab a 2560 x 1440 resolution monitor. 1080p at that size will not look good. Unfortunately, there are not many IPS monitors at that res under £300. Have you considered a 24" monitor at 1080/1200p, like the U2412?

Honestly anything will be an upgrade from what I'm stuck with at the moment I'm using a 32" at 1080p and it is giving me terrible headaches and eye strain so the 27" at 1080p will be better then what i have now but i do agree with you about getting a slightly smaller screen so if you could link me to what you think are the best 24" monitors for under £300 id appreciate it.
