What is this case?

Walking past a computer shop very close to my place and seen this in the window. I fell in love with it when I went in to have a look. Looking at the quality of the build and the weight I asked him the price, expecting a hefty sum.

He said £20, I took it straight away and took it home. Put few bits in it in my comp room at my house, didn't get chance to spend much time with it.

Anyways, what is this case?

Rather large FULL TOWER...

Thanks in advance.

is it a clone job or real one as i remember the server cases weigh a tonne.

The thing does weigh much more than it looks, any way of checking specifically if it is a clone?

Cheers

well mate if it is a real one , would not tell unless i saw the inside and pics of it all over for £20 its a bargain.

One way to defo tell is if the edges are folded and made of steal then chances are its a real one. There were some look a likes that still cost around the £50 to £80 mark and if i remember they were Gray / Black or green ..

From what i remember all of the Chieftec server models have removable dust filters on the front bezel. For example the vented bit with the logo on it should be removable.

It does look very much like a Chieftec/Antec as nepas said tho. Bargain tbh.

to me it look slike a copy of the Chieftec Dragon series of server cases.

IIRC when these were released a few years ago they were instantly copied by all and sundry with subtle changes to avoid copyright...I thing the original Chieftecs had a solid top door over the drives rather than vented but the lower half was still vented....

I could be wrong but a bargain none the less fella, now get the dremel out

Ahh right thanks for the info mate :).

Here is 2 pics:

This must be what you meant about rounded/curved?

Sorry about the quality :(.

Deffo a Chieftec.

The punched out rear 80mm fan holes (did they have plastic slidey in bits?) and the clip in HDD bays are a giveaway.

No idea about holders @ 80mills @ back this was all that was with case, but I guess so because at the front bottom there was 1 or 2.

:D

Know the price of the cases brand new anyone? I guess they don't sell them anymore.

They were quite expensive back in the day from what I remember - especially the one you have as it is the large one with the extra space above the PSU. I think it was about £150ish iirc.

Okay nice, not a bad day for me then lol.
