Hey peeps just wanted to ask what is the truth regarding QVL for memory as I received an email from Intel today with this statement
Quote " Also, it seems that the memory that you are using (which is the, CMD16GX4M2B3000C15) is not in the list of compatible memory for the MB X99A Gaming Pro Carbon. Which means is that there is no guarantee from the motherboard vendor that this configuration will work correctly and will not cause damage to your system in the long run. You might want to call your motherboard manufacturer about this. Below is the link for the supported memory of your motherboard."
Seriously how true is this statement? Will using non compatible ram really damage my system?
I always thought that the QVL was a guide only and that other memory may or may not work to it's full potential if not on the QVL
Thanks
