What do you think peeps?

Below is my current setup......

its a 2600k @ 4.7ghz and it is cooled by a 60 mm thick 360 rad, a 60mm thick 240mm rad and a thin 120mm rad (overkill i know!!!)

so thats 3 rads in total!

i also have a gtx 570 phantom on air all on a Z68-UD7 board.

Now the question is looking at my temps do you think i should watercool my chipset, 57c on the nf200 and 49 on Z68 seems high?

i will deffo watercool the GPU as ever since i oced it to 860 on core and 2000 on mem temps peak at 75-80c and even the phantom can sound bad at those temps!!!

These temps are after 18 hours of folding, so a little toasty

The looping will change as im not quite happy with it, can you uses any of the GPU waterblock threads as input/output or like the cpu blocks does it have a designated one?

Also do you think i will need a 2nd D5? do to the number of blocks and rad this rig could eventually have?

Thanks

Yea defo stick the gpu under water but I wouldn't bother with the chipsets. Once you stick the gpu under water and it stops exhausting into the case you'll probably find they'll drop several degrees anyway - they aren't massively high though it would be nice to see them both a little lower I can't see an issue as long as they are below 60.

Might be worth investing in a better pump for the extra block (or make it a 2 loop system?).

Add a fan to that 120mm rad too! Or is it on the otherside?

What's you airflow plan? Is everything exhausting out except the 120mm rad (assuming there is a fan on the otherside)?

I already Have the Laing D5 (1 of the best pumps out there) but dont know if its worth adding the extra

It is was me i wouldn't bother putting the chipset in the loop. Just put the CPU and GPU in the loop and you should be good.

Yea cool, that is a great pump - just checking!

At this stage I'd just put a block on the gpu and add it to the loop and see what happens to the temps. Seems unncessary to do much else to be honest.

I agree with the previous posts saying add gpu block only, it's likely the gpu is giving off heat to the board and making the overall air temp within the case warm.

gpu block will most likely have designated i/o points.

3 rads is more than enough and a single D5 should be able to cope with 2 blocks, but best to ask someone with experience e.g. ttl

also could always add another D5 if it seems to be struggling, but no need to rush in and buy one without testing.

Ok thanks everyone for your input....

TTL or anyone else who has experience....

Would i need another D5?

oh and i forgot to ask, does anyone know if it will void my warranty? its a Gainward GTX570 Phantom

I have seen many people put blocks of them but none mention anything about warranty.

better change that looping and tidy up the cable management quick otherwise time will have a field day with this! cool the gpu dont waste your money on cooling the board. Also yes it will more then likely void your warranty, unless gainward has a special policy. I think you can get away with it , with EVGA , Xfx and possibly Asus but thats about it these days unfortunately.

agreed add gpu leave off chips for now you'll see good benefits. D5 will be fine for what ya have. I'm using one with a 420mm and 280mm rads both 60mm thick with cpu/gpu loops. and its turned down to 3 on the speed setting

Thanks! ill just add gpu then, seen as you have a D5 i wanted to ask, does your d5 also make that annoying clicking/buzzing/tapping (whatever you want to call it) noise above the 2nd speed setting?

mine humms above 4 but thats to be expected seeing as its ramping up the rpm's but have not had clicking noise

I just had a look and unscrewed the pump from it top and found the reason it making the noise it because of the bitspower d5 mod I have on the pump :/

No I think the pumps vibration is rattling the bitspower housing, I'm going to get the EK pump top instead :/

How ironic on the product discription it says it will reduce vibration!
