What case ??

Hi all,

I am hoping for some helpfull advice as I have already blundered twice :(

I need a new case as my last choice just isn't upto the job, last time I chose a Gigabyte 3D Aurora pro (oversized aluminium midi)

My setup consists of the following,

Enermax galaxy 1000w psu

gigabyte x48 mobo

quad core intel 9450 cpu

4 X 2gb ocz reeper 8500 ddr2

2 X ati 3870x2 graphic cards (quad Xfire)

1 X ageia physx pci card

4 X WD 150gb raptor X

2 X Samsung 750gb spinpoint

2 X pioneer dvdr

1 X pioneer blueray player

My case at present I have to leave the side panel off just to stop it overheating.

I am going to watercool graphics, cpu and mobo but atm it is air cooled.

What would be a good case for the job for air cooling but also watercooling, having the psu bottem mounted could help as the power leads to my graphics cards are quite short.

Any help and advice, maybe some pics will be much appreciated.

Mountain Mods

Hi,

Has anyone had experience with mountain mods cases ?

I saw a few online today and was wondering if it would suit my needs.

They are quite expensive but look as though they have plenty of expansion possabilities.

So has anyone looked closely at these or are you using one, pro's con's ect'

All input appreciated.

That is the link to the Mountain Mods thread (pic in my sig) for my build - theres a few pics missing i'm affraid (trimmed down photobucket !), i sold the case not long after finishing it, there was a few things that i could'nt live with (its sheer size is a shock) - graphics card was hard to seat and i replaced the side panels with acrylic as i found them flimsy - all personal opinions obviously on what are generally well thought of cases.

Silverstone Tj07 or one of the big Lian Li tower cases eg. - Pc A70 or Pc V2110 would do the job for you
Agreed!

As Collosous said previously the MM cases certainly look the part and provide heaps of room, but there has been a few quality issues of late.

Click 'Tiger Style' in sig to see a MM build.

I too have heard of a few dodgy MM cases arriving on these shores too so it's a bit hit and miss atm.

That is one smart monster case

One question when using a 120.3 rad in the front won't the hot air from the rad blow into the case heating up the interior ?

This was one of the problems I have been thinking about.

3 dvd drives??? TJ07 is a pretty decent case but the LI-Lian has a little more with so you should get 2x120.3's in the bottom. TJ07 is restricted to 120.3 in the bottom, stealth 360/240 on top and a 120 in the bottom at a push. Still a really good well made case and probably one of the most stylish.
