What are you playing right now?

I'm slightly ashamed to admit that I mainly play (old school) RuneScape nowadays. Mainly because it basically plays itself so I can do other stuff and keep it running in the background. Plus, I actually find grinding for XP and items in games really satisfying (I loved Destiny, too).

Also, I've been getting into Civilization V.

Nothing wrong with good 'ol RuneScape. :D
Do you have Brave New World and Gods and Kings for Civ V? They do make a lot of difference and make it a better game.

I'm currently playing Motorsport Manager (Gone on hard mode creating a team from scratch) and playing Alundra again as I do every year

I definitely have the DLCs for Civ V! Can't imagine playing the game without them :) Not that good at the game anyway, can just about win the game on Prince on smaller maps.

Fair play! I wouldn't exactly call myself a brilliant player either because I don't go past Prince at all. I have played a few large games with a lot of AI players. That single game took me nearly 8 hours to complete.

Great game regardless, might even go for a "quick" round now :D

OK, so I am nearly back to where I was in Need For Speed. Got a lovely red Porsche. I *think* it's a 911 but I'm not really into Porkers so would need to check. I was going to save up $100k and go up another level before upgrading but the game made my mind up for me. I was getting done on the last corner in medium races and other than a cold air intake there was nothing left to add to the Scooby.

So I spent $75k on a Porsche and then sold the Scooby for $50k and maxed out the Porsche. Now clearing well over 210mph, game feels completely different haha.

Thanks to however it was that said endless space 2! I've never heard of it and never done turn based but his/her mentioning made me curious and I'm going to pick it up.

Is it CPU intensive?

You're welcome:)

Eh I suppose it is. More than the GPU at least. With my 6700k and 480 at 1440p on the Beautiful preset, which I should add it ONLY has presets in the settings, I typically am running 80+ FPS depending on the scene and often in the 100s. It has some major dips though when entering the planet siege phase, but other than that it is consistent. I can fairly easily run the Fantasic preset(the highest) but I am fairly sure it has some memory leak issues because it causes crashes due to consuming 8GB of Vram. Which is insane lol. The beautiful preset I haven't even seen go over 3GB, usually 2.5GB and that is the option below fantastic.

It's a fun game so far. I've played nearly 20 hours and that was basically in 2 sittings! The only thing I dislike is the combat. It's neat at first but after a while, it's pretty meh and you wish you had actual RTS style combat. But as it is it's the only thing I dislike. So it turns into a mostly 4x game where you are doing lots of repetitive tasks. I like that stuff, I am a strategy fan at heart, but it is not for everyone. I am not sure it is worth $40 as it is right now if you are not sure you are into 4x games. But if you go onto cdkeys.com you can get it much cheaper and it is worth that price. The game as it is is very solid all around, but nothing spectacular. I think after an expansion or two it will be a pretty seriously fun game.

Thanks NBD for the elaborate response, much appreciated! I may wait for possible expansions anyway, backlog and all, and am in the process of looking at some videos to understand it a bit better. It looks beautiful alright!
