what are the chances of when i get my mobo it be broken

okk so here's the problem ... soonish i will be probably ordering my DFI motherboard but im scared it will be screwed up when i get it and because it will be a while before i get the cpu and be able to build it i might not be able to rma it...because it will be like atleast 3 months.... should i get the cpu first?

The risk is there but it's not very high at all..

I would tell you to worry if you were getting an MSI but that's not the case, it's a good quality DFI! I don't think there's much point getting the motherboard 3 months in advance of the CPU anyway, just leave it and order all together :)

I would just wait... 3 months down the road there may be a new revision of the mobo ur looking at or something, which would be a waste if u bought one now and didn't even get a chance to use it before a newer revision became available.

Im gonna wait also. I like my MSI board but those DFI boards are looking really nice.

I have absolutely no comments for Nicks in terms of fanboism :P

As for buying the motherboard , wait for 3 months , the ATI board will be out and as all the goodies of DFI without the hassles. Just wait around . Im waiting for that board as well ;) .

Hey |3ourne - will they use the ATI chipset or the ULI (??name??) one? The ULI one seems to have more better features and less hassles?? :)
 
they came out with ULI Southbridge to begin with . At least for their display at cebit.

But lately ATI has been saying that they have solved the issues and will be using their own southbridge in the final models.

I guess which southbridge to use will be upto the manufacturers. ULI technically should be cheaper but we never know. It just works better for us users as a little competition never hurt the pricewar ;) .

But I bet Nvidia already has Nforce5 in the making right now. ATI is just taking too damn long as of now. They were supposed to be already out with the board last month but till now there is no such news.

And if nvidia comes with Nforce5 , then thats what i am looking forward too , since Soundstorm 2 is gonna be KILLER !!!!!
