Well i have actually been registered on here for 4 years, but shortly after registering all my OCing and Gaming stopped as work requirments ment i moved over to MACs

however i now have a new gaming rig and im getting all the bits to get my OCing back up to scratch.

i used to be into water cooling with various AMD Opteron setups with a personal best of just over 3ghz on my Opty 142 i belive may have even been 3.5ghz

i am well out of the run but i now belive Intel I7s are the best for overclocking?

THanks in advance

Tom

Hello mate, yes the i7's are pretty beast i have a i7 950 myself.

I believe the sb i7's are really good overclockers, lots of folk getting 5ghz on air!

Think i shall have to do some googling.

also now looking into going into the relms of sub-zero cooling but cant deside on phase or DICE

Welcome back

with regards to i7's and overclocking, well if you like to get down and dirty I understand its more the 1366/X58 platform is the best for overclockers/benchers as it leaves you the most to options to play with where the 1155/P67 stuff seems to be mostly about the multiplier. That's how I understood it anyway. Both 1155 and 1366 have there own i7's.
