Weird thing regarding an E8400 E0 Overclocked

Hey Guys,

Just thought i'd post this to see if anyone on OC3D can make sense of this.

I have an E8400 which up until today was overclocked to 4.1ghz. Today i made some changes etc and dropped the CPU back to original settings. In the windows 7 experience index by scores changed which I expected but not in this way. Can someone explain as I thought overclocking would yield higher scores.

Overclocked 4.0ghz Stock 3.0ghz

7.0 7.0

7.1 7.1

7.7 7.8

7.7 7.8

6.9 6.9

i wouldnt take any notice of the windows scores mate run something like 3dmark06 at the oc and stock and that will give u a better idea of how different they are

Aye windows sometimes doesnt see the OC properly, and tbh is a waste of time.

yeah i only had a .2 difference between 2.4 and 3.6ghz but in 3dm06 the difference was quite a bit larger

Agreed try something that actually takes advantage of multiple cores.
