I honestly think it is more useful in laptops, because of space limitations. For a proper pc, why not just buy an ssd and hdd. There's always space to cram them in, right?

Itx build maybe? Removing the cages for airflow and needs something small so it looks neat?

Should be the same as sperate drives.

That would work too, and is actually quite a good idea. Yes, the drives show up as two separate drives in the OS.

This drive was probably made to fit in laptops with only one 2.5" bay but it'd also work in an ITX build I suppose. A 2.5" SSD + 2.5" HDD would still be much cheaper though, so if you don't need to save the extra space, be wise and save yourself the extra money.
