The spare was sent back to Amazon and fully refunded, and the 'D14 is set to 5v forever more.
I'm happy with the temps at 5v, and I can't (as bad as it sounds) be bothered to send the 'D14 back.

slap a temp on and undevolt the CPU for a bit..
the fans the only defect and that cant take anytime to RMA.

I was referring to just the WC loop components or heatsink components. My PSU is also louder than my D14.

Yea that's not quite what I meant - I mentioned the psu because it should be basically silent (mine certainly is). In any case, I'm surprised that a well put together WC loop should be loud - they can definitely be very quiet.

I think they only get loud when people have a fixed budget for a loop. To do it properly IMO, you need to list up the parts you need for a loop without really having the cost in mind. If you start trying to cut corners because you cant afford it, then something will suffer - most likely your ears.

It could be from trying to save money and getting a cheaper pump, or saving to get cheaper fans, or anything like skimping out on a cheap block / pump / rad meaning you have to turn your fans up more.

When I buy anything really I dont tend to have price in mind. Not cause I'm overly wealthy or anything, but I just like having the best things, and it gives you a greater sense of pride to own them

Which is exactly why I had to increase my loop budget to $350 from $250. My wallet is going to suffer, but I think I'll be happier in the long run when there isn't coolant spouting out all over my parts because of a cheap component.
