Watercooled over clock please help 5.0mhz

Hi every one I have just finished my 2600k Watercooling rig and I am wanting to over clock it to 5.0mhz but I am finding it hard as I keep getting blue screen please some one tell me what I am doing wrong

One of the most vague posts I have ever seen here..

For one do you have pics of the bios with the volts and other settings? You can't just put in 50 and have it OC. It's a very long process that requires time and patience.

Start out with 4ghz and find a stable OC with the lowest amount of volts possible and then work you're way up. Jumping from stock to 5ghz is a very bad idea.

that and there's no need for 5Ghz as it'll require more than 1.4 vcore (in most cases) to achieve and there are countless threads/posts and so on about CPU's degrading QUICKLY above 1.4ish vcore. for extended periods.

what I mean by that is there were a lot that went OMFG!!!! SWEEEEET I got 5Ghz out of my CPU with only 1.45 vcore. then a few weeks later they were back crying that no matter what they did they couldn't get it stable again at 4.5ish with the same 1.45 vcore.

so my advice is to find your sweet spot for 1.375 ish vcore NOT OVER 1.4 and be happy there.

Thank you for the reply ok I get what it say so what would u say us a good over clock. Then ?? And also I have not gone over 1375 v and my problem is the heat it getting to like 75c and then blue screening well that is what I think it is

ok firstly watch Tom's vid on overclocking it pretty much lays it out for you in an easy to follow format. Next when you come back (after trying his methods) tells us your spcs and settings without those aint nobody can help (or will)

That is great thanks for pointing me there and one last thing do u think 64c is hot for a 4.2mhz over clock

For WC that is extremely high at only 4.2 What are your pc specs with the WC as well?

We need specs before we can really answer that properly.

I would just like to point out that it is GHz, Not MHz.

As Tom said, it is more volts that cause the heat, what voltage are you running for 4.2GHz?

And a full list of all the watercooling gear would be nice.
