Waterblocks for 970's?

Hey guys does anyone know of any nice quality full cover blocks for the new Gtx 970's?
I've been looking all over and haven't found anything nice as of yet?
Maybe I'm just being blind and I've missed them somehow but It seems like there's been a huge influx of 980 blocks, meanwhile I'm holding off buying my cards for fear of incompatibility.

Any help would be great!

As of yet there are no waterblocks I know of for a 970 however there are a couple of weird options.

The 'reference' 970 design is basically a 670/760 so if you search on the EK configurator and cross reference the compatibility list it will tell you which cards are compatible with the old 670 blocks. I don't know if it's safe to assume all 670/760 blocks fit all reference 970's without issues but I know it's possible for some.

The second and equally weird option right now would be to get an Inno3D Herculez X4 970 because that rather uniquely uses a 980 PCB. EK have verified it is compatible with their 980 blocks.

You could just wait, options will come for the 970. I'm the kind of person who would refuse to have a block with the wrong number on it so I bought a 290X :D worked out pretty cheap lol. That's as much as I and I think anybody knows right now.

EK has been working to update their cooling configurators database with info on the 970, since *some* 670 series blocks actually fit certain model 970s, but it's only for certain 970s. There's a big thread on OCN about this here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1514042/gtx-670-waterblock-on-a-gtx-970

In that thread, someone from EK mentioned there is a 970 block incoming (for the MSI cards if I remember correctly, not all of them). I'd wait a bit if I were you. Buying now, your choice is too limited. I'd wait and see what Bitspower, Aqualis, etc, have coming.

Asus 970 Strix Waterblock

I am going to follow this thread :-)
I have 2 X 970 that i like to watercool, so i hope that they soon will develop them soon.

Thanks for your input guys.
I had heard a few bits about older cards sharing a simlar if not the same pcb as certain 970's.
Swear I saw on special tech before their new site mention of a cross-compatible block.
Guess I've just gotta wait eh?

Would be easier if you said what card you have!as there are plenty of blocks out already, depending on the card.

Haven't taken the plunge yet because of the confusion with compatibility.
been Looking into the PNY and Gainward "reference style" cards because they seem to be compatible with 760 blocks.

The only manufacturer to release an official gtx970 water block at this point is watercool - a.k.a heatkiller.

It appears (based on the website) that they went after the 970, and not the 980 first.

I don't know if they are good or not, to be honest.

Your best bet will be to check compatibility through their site.

I have the 680 reference block, would I be hoping for too much if that was compatible with the 980? Anyone got any info on this?

Hmmm... I already have a EK GTX 670 block and back plates, but I can't find any shop with the GTX 670 block in stock, especially in Germany and UK.

If any one finds a shop with a reasonably priced GTX 670 copper block, please reply or send me a PM.

I have no intention to wait for the new GTX 970 block, to be available in the shops.

Wow, this is good news to a lot of people. I've been dying to upgrade, and now that this new EK block supports the most easily obtained 970 around here (Zotac), Santa might be coming early! :D Just make sure Daz gets his shipment Luc!!! ;)

I received my EK 970 water block earlier this week. First time dipping into water cooling, so decided to dive right in with both CPU and GPU in a loop.

I haven't seen a water block before but when I opened it up it was slightly rougher round the edges than I was expecting. Several threads still have swarf in them and the copper plate has what appears to be machine marks in places I wouldn't have expected them. I can remove the swarf and I'm thinking the milling marks are superficial and wont have any effect on the cooling.

Other thing of note, the manufacturing date on the block packaging was the 19th of November and the backplate was the 27th of November. I received these on the 3rd of December, so that's some pretty good logistics to get it from manufacturing into the UK retailer and then to my door in under a week.
