Water Cooling Advice

Hey, I currently have my i5 760 overclocked at 3.8Ghz on a Corsair A70 CPU cooler. The temps are safe, but not ideal for long life. I decided to take a look at water cooling...

I have a HAF 932 Advanced case.

I was thinking of either:

360 rad on top, 140 rad on back,

240 rad on top, 140 rad on back,

Which would be ideal and would these two choices (with good pump, res and waterblock) have a massive impact on performance.

Any advice on components is welcome!

A single 240 will do the job, I would get the RASA maybe you get 360 rad fans pump everything you need.

I have an ek 360 which is about the same as the rasas 360 rad, and that cools my i7 920 and 580 perfectly.

What kind of temps do you get on load? Is your i7 overclocked?

100 for a 920? It says on a couple of other posts that the safe temp is around 75-80.

Well surely it must improve on my A70. i5 do generally run cooler as there is no hyper-threading for the i7=5 quad cores.

I dunno its not that bad really the 580 that has WCed very well, 27C Idle 40 load

i just based the 100 of TJmax on core temp, I imagine thats the temp where its melts.

intels site says TMAX 72 for your processor and 67 for mine, so scratch that 72 max temp thats BS! sorry about that

You get a pump mate! You just need the liquid(mayham pure H20), Biocide (PTnuke/ mayhem do it not sure on name) and a killcoil. special tech have all that.

The RX rad is a 2x the price and I don't think its got 2x the performance. I was going to get it but I thought bugger it im keeping the £50 difference

Yeah. I am getting the RS with blue fluid. Nice rig btw. Spotted the 2 SSD's behind the mobo tray. Good idea!

cool stuff, make sure the dye is mayhem's any other premix/dye is trash.

I would get the pure h20 and the blue dye and then you can mix it to your liking!

What other components are you getting?

In the bottle or in the loop. In the loop I would run the pump only and let it mix round drop by drop taking my time,

Mayhems website said:
1. Clean water cooling loop before use

2. Fill water cooling loop with cooling fluid

3. Add the dye 1 drop at a time and let it circulate around the water cooling loop.

4. Check the consistency and more as necessary.
