Hey guys iam willing to upgrade my PC to smtg better to ivy bridge but i have no idea what is good and stuff could you guys make a list for me whats good and stuff

Thanks budget is around 700 to 1200 euros

we will need a little more information.. For instance what do you want to do with the rig?

if its just gaming you should be fine with 8gb of ram (well 4 should probably even suffice.. but with the RAM prices why not go for 8) and the i5.. if you doing more CPU intensive stuff you may need more power, as in the i7 and perhaps more than 8gb RAM.

Also is this going to be a new build or will you be using parts from your current rig?

i will be using parts from my current rig such as the psu and stuff but a new gpu wouldnt be bad also its mainly for gaming aswell

MSI Z77-GD55 or 65 + 2550k oced to 4-4,5 Ghz+ 8GB of ram + GTX 680 and keep everything except the just mentioned

btw where are you from?

Seems to me you could just do with a better GPU. Those Lynnfield quads are still sufficient for gaming. Get yourself a 690, 680 or 670 and save the rest of the money for something else. My two cents.

based on your current specs you really don't need anything aside from a new motherboard and cpu. I would go with what jmmp said but instead of the 680 get the 670 the 570 isn't really outdated but the 1.2gb of VRAM will hold you back and if you get ram grab some really fast ram like 2133mhz or something since it is apparently Ivy's strong point

If you just want to upgrade for the fun of something new then by all means go for it!!!

If you feel you need more out of your system try this.

right click on your desktop in empty area and choose personalize

then click screen saver

then click change power settings

in power setting choose high performance

next go into NVidia driver panel and select triple buffering on

select vertical sync to force on

click apply

now install fraps and check the frame rate in games you want to play. If you always stay at 60 then you will not gain anything by upgrading. if you don't stay at or near sixty then try to determine if you are cpu, memory or gpu bound and upgrade.

you may find if you have been running under the balanced power plan that you will see a sizable boost to your gaming experience.
