Tom quickly realised that no matter how well he played Battlefield 4, it wasn't going to help him get through shower time at the barracks.

I would just like to point out that everyone is thinking of a solar year being 224 days. A DAY on Venus however is slightly longer than on Earth at 1.9 solar days. So the winner will be announced in about 14 Earth days.

Seems logical by OC3D standards :p

Wrong

Venus has a really slow retrograde rotation and its day is 243 earth days long. Its orbital period is 224 (earth) days so yes, a day on Venus is longer than a year.

I don't know where you read those numbers...

1 Venus day=116days, 18h 0m in Earth calculations. So no, a a day on Venus is not longer than an Earth Year. Only thing Venus does faster is that it rotates the sun every 224 days versus our 364/365 days. Simple google search:p

I said that a day on venus is longer than its year, and it's correct. Venus takes 243 earth days to rotate on itself and 224 days to complete its orbit around the Sun.

117 earth days is the duration of the solar day, not the sidereal one.

So an observer on Venus would see 1.9 sunrises and sunsets during a complete venusian year, but the actual day would be 243 earth days long.

FYI an earth's sidereal day is 23h 56m 4s, while a solar one is ~24h. On Venus the solar one is shorter tha the sidereal one because of the slow retrograde rotation.

p.s.: maybe you mean 365/366 days
