I really hope these prices are not correct. Unless Haswell is significantly faster than Ivy, Intel can shove Haswell up their a**.

I can get a 2700k for £180 or a 3770k for £220 (second hand with 12 months warranty), there is no way i'm spending ~£220 for an i5, or even ~£300 for an i7.

AMD really needs to step it up and give Intel reason to charge more reasonable prices.

Remember that the 3770K's retail MSRP was $332. With conversion rates it'll probs be around £240-£260 ish for the 4770K.

I think those prices are U.S as we still pay $349Au for an Ivy 3770K so it sounds about the right money to us so it will prob be cheaper in pounds.

Haswell will only be 10% over IB. So in a way yeah, you're correct. Although I'm always pumped for new Tech releases, I prefer bigger leaps. So yeah, Intel can shove Haswell up their asses.

My CPU's in sore need of an upgrade but Intel make it so hard to jump ship x.x
Hopefully the i3's will be decent (meh, 10%), then I'll be picking up on of those with a mid-range board, and hopefully a AMD 88xx GPU

I have to admit I find the clock speeds terribly disappointing tbh. They're no better than Sandy and Ivy and they should be, given the shrink in nm and the lower heat and power consumption.

That's fine on the K series of course, but it just seems like they're putting a choke hold on speed bumps. Ivy wasn't any faster than Sandy, and tbh with the pitiful clock increases it gave Sandy non K owners no reason to upgrade. What's the point in 5%?

So if Haswell is 10% faster they're limiting their own audience by giving the non K owners 10%.

Talk about saturating the market with pointless products.
