VOIP solution for interviewing

Hello :)

I work for a guy who does interviews and I've pushed him towards VOIP for interviewing audio and I hope video!

Now the thing is we have a couple of Skype recorders under our belts, but Skype quality is usually pretty shit for no apparent reason. Audio is acceptable but video is bleh.

Are there any other recommendations out there which allow us to

  • Record the interview - audio and/or video
  • Call mobiles, landlines and computer to computer
  • Deliver a better than Skype quality
  • Be easily accessed by the interviewee - perhaps visit a webpage, input password and join the interview??

I don't know if everything is covered by these products but some food for thought..

  • Google hangouts - easy to use and free.
  • Citrix GoToMeeting - Comprehensive but may be inaccessible by interviewees without the software.
  • Adobe Connect - Users login as a guest at a particular time of day with a password. No extra software required for the interviewee.

Cool - I'll check them out.

Depends on quality i suppose, don't know if we can expect businesses to set up a google account so we can interview them, unless we can set up a generic account and link them to sign in with it just for the interview.

We are mainly concerned about audio, and Skype is bleh for that too. The less work for the client the better, a perfect solution would be click this link, type this password in and off we go - with the option to call mobiles/landlines too.

Mumble has near perfect audio quality. Why can't skype offer a premium service with a better chance of quality - it does everything we want but a decent quality

edit: just remembered join.me - worth a looky
