Vista has been put back until January 2007, the BBC reports today:

It's not the optimal situation, to be launching the next-generation version of Windows right after the big holiday sales season

Take more of a look at the Front Page

longer it gets delayed, longer it is till everything requires it and i get pushed into the upgrade boat against my will, so a big hurrah from me.

I still use win 98 half the time tho so maybe i'm biased/stupid.

Lets face it - by the time they have finished faffing around with it, it will just be a skinned version of XP.

EDIT: ...With a new Windows Media Player

Agreed, I believe this will hurt M$, it has been too long a delay already even for 6 flavours of the OS. More peeps turning to Linux perhaps, especially with KDE's jazzy new look not too far away.

'Select' customers will still be getting Vista in November I have been told today, but it goes on general sale in January 2007
