vm 50mb is unlimited, and achieved 50mb most of the time when i had it.i've been with most suppliers now,but went back to sky due to lack of hd channels on vm,however i do miss the 50mb internet, made things so much easier.
I'll be honest I think that very high download speeds are over rated. It's been hyped for so long now people believe it's what they want without questioning it. No one is talking about quality, it's all about the headline grabbing top speed.
I know if your stuck on a 2Meg line then you will have a hard time accepting what I'm saying but experience is tells me otherwise.
Real low ping, zero packet loss, equal upload to download. For most home users 1 or 2 meg up and down is more than than sufficient. For power users and I would guess most reading this forum would fit that category, 10 meg up and down would be ample. Think about it even for you guys with real fast connections, how often do you really use it. The most traffic I send or receive is for bittorrent, and a 10 meg connection would be more than enough it it was up AND down. However super low ping and reliable connection would be a must for gaming.
Returning to my suggestion of thinking about net connection like water supply. Everyone is concentrating on the size of the pipe and no one cares that the water tastes bad! I want pure water that tasts nice without impurity not the ability to fill a bath the 20 seconds with brown stinky water.
So if someone would offer that guaranteed of low latency and 100% up time with equal upload to download I for one would pay good money for it. Call it Geeknet or something... Internet for the refined consumer.
i get upgraded in may to 100mb![]()
vm do have hiccups every now and again, but a phone call soon sorts it out for me
