VIA Bring A Totally Silent HD Video Platform

Love to see one of these in action. Via have all the main stuff together there, I don't know if they're w8ing for an oem contract with some1 to produce a set box.

Some kind of comparison benching too.

I would love to have one of these. You could challenge yourself to see how small you could make the case (custom, of course) then link it to a NAS server and your TV. Awesome way to watch stuff. :D

mhmm does it have matroska (mkv) support? if no kinda falling behind.

mkv is just a container format. its what ever the audio/video stream is inside that matters.

true. but ive had problems playing it on machines that had it encoded into a working format but in the mkv container and it still didnt want to play it. even in vlc, yet the same file works perfectly for me

Not 100% the same thing but I've got the Samsung NC20 which uses the VIA Nano + chipset and I've managed to get that thing to play 720p MKV files. It took a lil massaging of codecs but that was just down to gfx power not quite being up to it.

mhmm interesting, ive got a kiss 1600 media box thing sat here that i cant get to do anything except look up the news and stuff, tbh im rather tempted to sell it and just build a small pc out of a matx board an old pro with a tv card and just watch stuff across the network, no worrys about video format then as it will play eveything with vlc.
