OCZ Powerstream 520W will be here sometime this week, then I can try AGAIN.

Yes a Power supply that actually powers the PC ya wanna build may help in getting the damn thing running! Lollers! :)
 
6xx series isn't compatible with this bios.. It posts.. But if I press any button it restarts so I can't flash it to an updated bios :( And if I don't press any button it restarts after post lol

Does that mean you're yoinking the old proc back in it then flashing then putting the 640 in? :)

No, because that was socket 478.

What board did u get again? The DFI right?

Call em up and have em send you the latest BIOS on a new chip and plug that facker in!
 
Austin,

Download the BIOS that supports the 6xx series unzip it and stick it on a floppy disk.

Then boot your machine, and as soon as the bios screen comes up press 'F2'. This will take you into a awdflash program thats integrated on the board.

You should then be able to use this to flash your rig with the bios that supports the 6xx series without the need for the 5xx series processor.

At least we have one person that knows what they're doing around here in the Intel department ;) :D

Well it makes proper sense :) I always forget that DFI has the built in flash utility... That's a saver!
