Except I can't flash the BIOS without a 5xx CPU.![]()
name='Austin' said:6xx series isn't compatible with this bios.. It posts.. But if I press any button it restarts so I can't flash it to an updated biosAnd if I don't press any button it restarts after post lol
name='kempez815' said:Does that mean you're yoinking the old proc back in it then flashing then putting the 640 in?![]()
Austin said:No, because that was socket 478.
Currently I have no access to a 5xx![]()
kempez815 said:Ah....why didn't ya buy a mobo that was compatible with your CPU then?
I feel for ya mate...that must be sooo frustrating!![]()
name='Austin' said:It is compatible.. I just need the right bios![]()
XMS said:Austin,
Download the BIOS that supports the 6xx series unzip it and stick it on a floppy disk.
Then boot your machine, and as soon as the bios screen comes up press 'F2'. This will take you into a awdflash program thats integrated on the board.
You should then be able to use this to flash your rig with the bios that supports the 6xx series without the need for the 5xx series processor.
