Venice 3000 @ 3ghz ;)

errmm was an DFI ultra-d one of the first Rev's. Was also when the Venice's first hit the shelves and when 3ghz was a magical barrier!!

lol im overclocking my old winnie in my bros pc now.. air cooled with my ghetto rigged arctic silencer 64(dont ask) .. doing 2300 atm with 1.35v .. fsb 255.

Hmmm tempted to get my 3500+ out of its hiding place and have a go with that on the FX55 stock cooler lol. Pushed this FX to 3.2Ghz, I'm wondering what I can do with the 3500 lol.

turns out my winnie can do 2.4ghz 270 htt @ 1.35 in windows with clockgen but cannot boot when i set those settings in the bios :(

real shame because it was priming away happily for a couple of hours beforehand as well!

I think (looking around) more people we able to reach 3ghz when they first came out than they can now, not taking anything away from your clocks mate coz 3.2ghz is one of the best 3000 clocks I ever saw, but the magical 3ghz was not so magical back in the day.

Hell even my 3200 winchester hit 3ghz on phase, with a mach 2 it came with the territory. What i mean is, anyone with a opty 146 and a tidy stepping doesnt have to spend 300+ to get to 3ghz.

3ghz was only for people with phase. Now with water its perfectly stable with a fair few chips out there.

The stepping i had on my venice was one of the best out there, i got lucky :). got it off ebay for 75 quid!! I've seen 100% overclock with the same stepping albeit at like 1.85v

Push those volts thru mav, Venice can take a hell of a lot of volts. Hell I could run 2.3v thru my old XP lol. Melted the northy but could do it lol.

As long as the cooling is there then you'll be fine ;)

tbh its mostly about stepping, what stepping are all of these btw??? as you can see in my sig (hopefully) mine'll hit near enough 2.8 @ 1.6V (stock cooled) (well, 2790 to be specific) and I have run it at 320 x 9 @ 1.6V with a Vappy micro and Tornado as well as runin day-to-day at 300 x 9 @ 1.55V, think I messed up the mem controller though with my Booster modding escapades
