Besides, it's hard to judge a build when it's not finished yet as faults can still be corrected,
or imperfections worked out.

EDIT: I saw your question in the Arctic Water build log about whether or not to cover
the Sabertooth in carbon fibre vinyl. Personally I would vote no on that. I think carbon fibre is
sort of tacky when it's used on large surfaces, plus I've always been bothered a bit when
something that's not carbon fibre is made to look like CF. But if you like it then there's
nothing stopping you, it's your build after all, and you can never please everyone anyway.

I'm still unsure about the carbon fibre, but I'll see how it turns out and then ask you guys. I don't know when i'll do it, but it's probably a long time til. I got quite a lot to buy before I can start thinking about cosmetics.

I hear ya - thats a good thing. Getting inspired from other builds should be a key element of a forum like ours. Seeing that we all have different skills, capabilities and budgets to "struggle with" - no-one should be judged if they make an effort to build something nice.

On the fake CF - Im not for it personally, but if U like - Id say go right ahead

Hello again! Now, the Carbon Fibre Vinyl talk, I saw a guy on a Norwegian build log and he have wrapped his Sabertooth P68 in some. Personally I think it looks better than the original thermal armor. You can see what he have done here
I'll see how my Sabertooth turns out, and if I think it looks good I'll probably keep it even though most enthusiasts in here don't like it.

Is it not possible to change title?...

I have to admit, the guy in the linked thread did some nice carbon work on that M/B.
Just do what's right for you. What matters in my opinion is not so much if something
conforms to my tastes but how much care and thought has been put into a build.

It's not decided yet, as i'm not even done modding the case and, I think I dun' goofed... The motherboard tray is bent, so I need a new one... I may make a new one if I can't find somebody willing to break their 800D in pieces. In worst case scenario, i'll get a new case. Probably LD PC-V8

I thought about picking the V8 for HELIOS, but I wanted 560 radiator capability and the
V8 is just a bit too narrow for my tastes (I like the overall proportions of the SMH10 more).

Then again, with all the accessories, I think the SMH10 has cost me about 1.75x as much
as a V8 :lol:

The SMH10 is amazing! And it fits alot of watercooling. I think the PC-V8 fits better for my use.
That's the bad thing about CaseLabs... So expensive! And definetly to get them into Norway... because of taxes and fees ect. If only there was a Norwegian supplier of Caselabs. Then I may would have bought it. That reason may sound stupid but, yeah If I end up with a LD PC-V8 you will know

Well, with the customization options Caselabs offer it just doesn't really make that much
sense to sell through retailers. They don't make too many cases (as in production numbers,
not models), and most of those that they do make are customized at least to some
degree (especially now that they've added the option for multi-colour schemes).

Plus, from what I've read they really make your case when you actually order it. They
prefabricate some parts and then finish it according to your order. That's not confirmed
by a reliable source though.

Don't get me wrong, Caselabs have amazing cases with alot of customization. But if they had a "basic" model with the needed hardware for motherboard, 1 PSU, a few HDDs ect they could send out a few cases to a few supliers her and there, but not in ever country. And then the buyers could buy the other options from Caselabs. This is just a thought though.

If my wallet was filled with enough money, I would have gone with a Caselabs case. And some higher end hardware.

Guys, what do you think about people that have etched (is that a word? ) their sidepanels? On the plexi part though. I may etch my name into the 800D plexi panel thingy.

If done right I personally quite like them. To me, "done right" means:

• proper workmanship
• Not too large, more as an accent in one of the corners. I would still like an unobstructed
  view of the internal components, I don't really like those etched (that is indeed the term I
  have seen used for this for the most part) logos that obstruct the entire window so that
  you can't properly see inside anymore.

But that's just my take on this.

I'm planning on something around at the bottom, almost across the hole thing as that is going to be a "messy" place. Maybe smaller and so it ends about 7-10 cm from the "front"

I like a very small (or even semi-hidden) autograph - so I would place it somewhere else in/on the chassis.

Having it more discretely placed or sized could also be a winning point when/if u decide to sell the system.

Yeah, I think it is too big to take the whole bottom, and the risk to ruin the whole plexi is very high to have it so big.

Sorry for no updates for so "long" as i've been a little bit busy with my MC. The exhaust is almost plugged with a lot of thick oil after a very bad sparkplug. It is also a small hole in the end exhaust so my tire and almost everything is covered in black bad oil...

Now, I've been thinking, and decided to drop the blue colour. I'll be having a black/white (maybe copper too with some silver touches) colour scheme. And about the front panel mod I think I mentioned earlier, I can't find any places that could help me out with 10mm thick smoked plexi panel. I know where I can find the almost perfect bolts (not any nuts though) to use.
