besides cauliflower lung?
It's popcorn lung and that has only been associated to diacetyl. Given that pretty much every one who vapes is against the use of it it's rare to find it in liquid. I've been vaping for around five years. I've been vaping only for over three years (like not had a cig since).
Before I gave up I was smoking around 30 rollups a day. It had begun to get to the point where I would wake up in the morning and not be able to breathe. If I tried to breathe in deeply I would start coughing, and my lungs could hardly take in any air. It used to scare the absolute crap out of me. Literally, I would be lying there sweating trying to breathe for sometimes up to an hour. Yet every time I tried to breathe in deeply I realised my lung capacity was actually crap, so I would just start coughing. IIRC I was about 39 at the time.
I also had huge problems with walking. The bedroom in the house we lived in was on an upper floor with no bathroom and I would have to go down the stairs, through the house and into the back of the house. By the time I got back my heart was pounding like mad and I would have to again try and catch my breath.
I reckon another ten years? I would have had emphysema. Or just as bad, COPD.
Since switching to vape solely (because it was a rocky road at first thanks to the unreliability of early Ecigs) my lung capacity is off the chart. I can walk for about a mile at a reasonable pace without getting out of breath or feel dizzy. Without going into too much information things have changed drastically in the bedroom too. I no longer feel like collapsing when I am done, for example. My blood pressure and heart rate have also decreased.
When I smoked I would get a cold every single year. And every year that cold would last about two weeks, then go to my chest. I would then either get a chest infection or bronchitis and end up being ill for about six weeks. Since switching to vape I have had two colds, and not a single cough. And both have lasted a few days to a week, then completely gone.
As for the money? I run three pretty high spec PCs. I go on holiday twice a year and I have nearly two bikes. Before? I had sod all. Vaping costs me about £7 a week. Before? I was spending over a tenner a day.
So there, there's a five year study from some one who actually vapes. I will never quit the vape either because I desperately need the nicotine due to my brain being crap at producing serotonin. I will forever be an addict.
However, I feel twenty years younger. I would rather die doing this than die smoking. At least I wouldn't be gasping for air. Always cracks me up now to see some one outside the A&E department with oxygen lines going up their nose having a cig. Talk about sado.
