Vanishing WU's?

Broken down simply,

• Picked up a large(ish) WU early hours wednesday morning (can't remember project number) quoted 1.18days to complete at 17k points.
• Left computer folding all day (and night for a change)
• woke up this morning (as was due to finish overnight) project has finished, yet got no points for it and hfm has no trace of it in the wu logs yet shows 1 wu completed (the phantom vanishing wu)

so basically according to hfm, i have completed a 24hr plus wu, got no points for it and hfm has no recollection of the work unit in its logs.

very disappointed to have wasted so much electric for jack all. dropping my 24hr average in the process


if anyone can shed some light for me it would be mucho appreciato

I've had this happen many times with the larger WU's. I don't think there is any way to get those points back. When it happened to me I posted in the "Those annoying little F@H" thread and no one had a concrete reason as to why it was happening, so I left it alone. I've not had it happen for more than 3 - 4 months now (touch wood) so I've left it alone. You might want to post in the folding forums as they might have a reason why it happens.

Sometimes you lose the credit like yassarikhan said - other times you need to wait till the next update. If the WU finished 10 mins before the next 3hr sweep then it probably won't show up till the next one, and other times it just doesn't show up for a good few hours but usually if it's not there within two sweeps, you're not going to ever see those points.

If you make a thread on FoldingForum an admin could well credit you the base credit (if it was SMP), but you won't get the QRB portion.
