USB Drive File System

Hey guys I have a Corsair Voyager 3.0 16GB and I had to reformat it (FAT32) as some of the data got corrupted, however, I can't remember if FAT32 was the original format.

So my question to you is what would be the best file system for this drive? I've read that FAT32 is probably the best (unless I want to move some files above 4GB).

I want to ensure maximum stability and speed for this drive as I use it a lot for Uni work.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

try ex-FAT 32 its still fat 32 but w/o the 4gb limit

or ntfs, its has no limitations but to ensure safe and uncorrupted files go and securely remove the flash drive.

I agree. NTFS will be no problem. It's always good practice to safely remove the flash drive via the safe removal utility.

I'll think I will just stick with FAT32. I've read that NTFS isn't good for USB sticks for several reasons but I can't remember them now.

Right click on your usb stick and select format then click on 'restore device defaults' to format the drive to default settings.

That being said, NTFS won't cause any harm for usb sticks at all and usbs should be safely removed regardless of their file system.

ohh I didn't know you could do that cheers and yeah I always remove using the eject
