Ok so this is a slightly different one for you all , I recently bought a CarPC (used) and decided to wipe and start again but when ever I plug my USB DVDrom in the pc crashes then starts to boot then crashs again and just keeps repeating this but it only does it when the drive has a disk in and its the sam with other devices there fin on idle but when they operate it causes the system to crash.

Any ideas is it the mobo or maybe a knackered HDD.

The mobo is an Epia-PX10000G.

Not sure but it sounds like a driver error, do you get a blue screen when it crashes?

Definitely seems like a driver error, or maybe registry. Just uninstall the drivers, and reinstall them, if that doesn't help run a registry cleaner.

Like Zeals said uninstall and reinstall the drivers, if you haven't got the motherboard drivers you will have to find them from somewhere, I just looked and I can't find them, that motherboard is also discontinued so they might be hard to track down, unless anyone here can help. The drivers for your other devices get them from the manufactures web site.

Also try updating the USB DVD drives firmware see if that helps.

Il have a hunt round for drivers and see and no I dont get a blue screen I just get a funny noise from the PC and it crashes.
