urm i think i have a problem

Bios chip soldered on? You could try and get a new one form Asus if not.

You need one of them fancy removal tools tho...

Try running Awardflash from a DOS prompt with these switches (insert appropriate drive letter for your usb stick and correct name for your new bios image):

"A:\>awdflash.exe kt7a_kk.bin /cc /cd /cp /py /sy /cks /R"

Description:

kt7a_kk.bin = Update filename (example)

/cc = clear CMOS after Programming

/cd = clear DMI after Programming

/cp = clear PNP(ESCD) after Programming

/py = Program Flash Memory

/sy = save the old BIOS to: "OLDBIOS.BIN"

/cks = show Update Binfile Checksum

/R = Reset System after Programming

If the board has EZ-Flash like most Asus boards, just shove the latest bios file on a USB stick. Look half way down this page for info

just to emphisise this:

dos is gibberish

the bios is gibberish

keys on the keyboard aint where they're suposed to be

i cannot type a coherent sentence with the keys all being random

i cannot change things like that

its great saying flash the bios, but you try and do it, it is GIBBERISH

not one piece of it makes sense...

i hope that helps with a comprehension of the situation...

i think i need to rma it..

EDIT, also if you know how to remove them, and fit new ones, i would like that knoweldge too :p

forgot to mention in pm...make sure you note which way around the original bios chip is situated and put the new one in accordingly.

if this doesnt fix it then i beleive the board must be faulty.

Raging.
