Hey all got an issue thats not very clear in the book i only have 2 sticks of ram and im not sure on this asrock x99 board as to which slots im supposed to use atm i have a stick ina1 and c1 which is the outside left and right as this is my first ever x99 i want to be right before booting the pc thanks i do have two more sticks on the way next week

What mobo exactly do you have? Looking at the X99 Extreme 4 if you want dual channel it looks like A1 and B1. In your manual they should show up as paired slots.

Edit -also for the Fatal1ty X99X

The book only shows slots a1 b1 c1 and d1 filled or all of them but a mate of mine looked it up for me so im not struggling on the phone and from what we can figure out it's a1 and b1 for just 2 sticks and any of the 1 slots for a single stick

It's cause X99 uses quad channel memory and you're putting a dual channel kit into it. You need to use slots A1 and B1, then if you get 2 more sticks you fill up C1 and D1 and you can utilize quad channel technology.
