Hi Guys

Im going to finally upgrade my computers cpu after 6 long years of my faithful q6600, I have a budget of about £400

I have a MSI 560ti Twin Frozr I plan to keep for the time being, and hoping to keep my 500watt psu, I also have 3HDD and 2 small SSD running.

I have my eye on this setup and would like your views on it, all this comes to about £330 atm.

AMD FX-8350
Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 Motherboard
Crucial BLT2CP4G3D1869DT1TX0CEU Tactical 8GB Kit (4GBx2), Ballistix

Thanks for reading my post,

James

I'm running a Prolimatech Megahalems with some noctua fans, I was thinking of getting the AM3 kit for it as its been a good cooler for me, what ya think?
Would I see a good performance increase from this upgrade? Is their a better memory set I could get as to the one I listed? I'm not sure on memory speeds ect.

Regards

James

If the cooler is doing fine then keep it for now. Memory is really just memory. You pay for the specs more than the name/brand except for a few. Just find a minimum of 1600mhz ram with CL9 timings and a lifetime warranty.

I would upgrade to a higher wattage PSU. 8350 sucks up watts like crazy when volts start to go up. I would go for a 650+watt PSU now but if you plan on SLI/Xfire in the future you may just want to get a 750+ PSU.
