Hi OC3D. I'm looking to upgrade my pc because i don't have money for a brand new pc.
I'm a serious gamer (pc) and was wondering will a new cpu cooler such as CM V6 or V8 help so that i can overclock my cpu to +3.5 or buy a new gpu (GeForce GTX650Ti).

What will help me achieve better gaming (bf 3, nfs, fifa 14(pre-order) and gta v (when it release))?
Budget for cpu cooler R700 (from South Africa) US doller 71.32
Budget for gpu max R2500 (from South Africa) US doller 254.71

*Specs below*

CPU: PENTIUM DUAL-CORE @ 2.60GHz
MOBO: ASUS P5KPL-AM SE
GPU: ZOTAC 1GB NVIDIA 9500GT
RAM: 4GB DDR2 Kingston
HDD: 500GB, 160GB, 1TB seagate external
PSU: 350W (DON'T KNOW THE BRAND) Two case fans

if you meant *specs in sig* copy them up (signatures change), and give us a budget :) Looking at your sig, this is gonna be a toughy...

bf3/4 needs quad core and i'd say GTA 5 will definitely need quad core
Any more power in there and that PSU will have to go, especially as a no-namer.

so you cay that overclocking won't help and that new gpu = cpu?
I'm toast (no moola)

How much watt psu is needed for the upgrade?

What about used parts? Could get an AMD 6300 and some really cheap board (say what you want about AMD, but it's bang for the buck).

You could also look at getting used GPUs or maybe even a PSU. As long as they can show you that it all works there shoulnd't really be a problem. Especially on, for instance, Corsair units that still have warranty on them.

The best thing would just be to save up a little more though, in my opinion :(

I don't really like AMD or ATi but I have to agree saving = buying amd. offer performance for less then intel. i've tried locating used quad cores and one or two showed up but that's -2.60Ghz. And i cant waste R700 now and then after two mouths i must upgraded again. msi z77a-g43 for R1200 leaving me with R1300 for a i5 and that's ridiculous

if you can stretch the budget to R 3800

then for that you could get

an AMD A10
And asrock AM2A75M-DGS Motherboard
and 8gb of 1866 corsair vengence ram

all of the other parts you can reuse, though i would suggest upgrading the PSu in the near future

at your budget i imagine that your monitor is 720p maybe a little higher, at that resolution the A10 with the 8670D GPU will be more than sufficent

that budget is far to big for an unemployed school student. I have a 21,5" monitor and would just want a mb, cpu and ram for R2500 (main concern is the cpu cause thats expensive for performance) would of loved a quad core i5 but amd should be fine for now. Gpu and psu can come in the future.
