TBH at this point in time it's almost better just to go with X99 over Z170 here

X99 prices $359.00 to $839.00
Z170 prices $199.00 to $799.00, But the motherboards that start at $199 IMO aren't really that great

With X99 you have an upgrade path unlike Z170 which will not be compatible with Intels next mainstream socket.

Nice to see that you settled on the 5930k.

Nice overclock on your 5930K, I can only get to 4.50GHz with 1.24v, Even with 1.35+ anything over 4.50GHz isn't stable.

Thanks mate. Though its probably one of the reasons why you qere able to get it for cheap. Mines stable at 4.9, however certain calculations cause it to BSOD. Can bench 24/7 without issue though.

hehe cool ! yeah see I didn't go 5930k because at the time I bought it Alienware wanted about £300 more for it. That's where they get you, when you change the stock config.

Same went for memory. I got 8gb in the rig as they wanted £180 to up it to 16gb, then bought the ram from Crucial myself about two weeks later for £59. I did add XSPC coolers to all of the ram but that cost me about £40 so I was still quids in
