Universal waterblocks?

The Raystorm is a good block, no objections there, same goes for the XT45. As for the pump,
I can definitely recommend the D5, I'm sure there are other good alternatives, but with the D5 I
have personal experience and can recommend it from that.

SP120's are decent fans (I have three), but they're not exactly quiet on 12 V, so if you want low
noise prepare to undervolt them.

I've never run 1/2" fittings with 7/16" hose, but I've read about it and seen quite a few people do it
do it, so I think it should be fine.

Yeah i read something like that elsewhere. I planned on using some sort of controller to run all of the fans.

Yeah i saw it on Toms beginners guide to water cooling video. If i don't think it's safe i'll just fit some of those metal things you crimp on air lines.

this might knock out a couple:

Thanks. I've seen others i prefer but i haven't decided on that yet.

add Swiftech MCP355 PWM DDC and you got small, quiet and complete.
im not an ek supporter, but this is what you described..

Thanks, thats the sort of profile i'll need.

I have plenty of time to collect bits and pieces while I'm building the case so i'll keep an eye on the for sale section and ebay.

Chris.

Tbh, I have tried 16/10 hose on 10 mm barbs, and it's already good enough not to require
clamps. So I think 7/16 on 1/2 should be fine. But yes, keeping an eye on it is certainly not
a bad idea, and not just for the hose/barb interface.

Although there is tubing that is more flexible than others and might not give you as tight a fit,
but I don't really know which ones are softer or harder, haven't tried many.

have you considered getting 1 of the xspc, ek's, or alphacool 240 kits or even the h220 if all your doing is cpu they would all give you the option of adding another rad and gpu block if you decide to go that way

Hello. Yes i have looked at kits but they all come with the "wrong" kind of res :(

I have considered the H220 but apparently the pump/block isn't very good. Besides that i really like the idea of a "custom" loop. If i got the H220 i would be changing the fans and hose, as well as adding a res. So I'm not sure it makes sense on the money side either?
